I think one of the hardest cuisines to eat while being low-carb/keto is Chinese food.  Last weekend, we were on vacation with our entire family and all they wanted to eat was Chinese food!  I don't mind that but at every restaurant we ate at, I scrolled down the menu and there were literally only 1-2 choices that would qualify as low-carb/keto.  One of them being beef & broccoli minus all the added starch.

Everything else was easily 40+ carbs per dish so that entire weekend, all I ate was stir fry green beans and lettuce wraps!

So after returning from vacation, I decided we had to make at least a couple of low-carb/keto Chinese recipes to help with this and what better recipe to start with then your traditional in keto beef & broccoli stir fry dish!

It only takes about 10 minutes to make, and with the adjustment we made, it comes in at low-carb/keto friendly ~4g net carbs per serving and filling enough to be the main course.

We did use store bought oyster sauce for this recipe, which contains sugar.  So if you're really strict on your carb count, you can eliminate it from the recipe but keep in mind that oyster sauce is one of the main flavors so it might taste a little 'light'.

So we start this recipe by making the sauce which consists of Oyster Sauce, Soy Sauce, Monkfruit Erythritol Blend, chicken broth, Japanese sake, Xanthan Gum for thickening all mixed together.

After the sauce is made, we marinate the beef in the sauce while cooking the broccoli.  After the broccoli is cooked, we switch places and transfer the broccoli to a holding plate and add the beef into the fry pan.  Once the beef is browned, we add back the broccoli and the rest of the sauce, cook it for a couple of minutes and that's it!

So next time you are in the mood for Chinese and don't want to only eat 'stir fry green beans with garlic', cook up this traditional recipe at the comfort of your own home!

Now, let's get cooking!
